Erin Ikeler
Erin Ikeler received her BA from Cooper Union, New York in 2008. She works in a variety of media, exploring themes of appropriation and repetition in contemporary visual culture. She has exhibited her work in New York and Texas, and maintains a studio in Brooklyn, NY. Her new installation, Selections from the Collection, was created specifically for Piles, and features images from her personal archive that she accumulated from all kinds of printed matter over many years. The motifs that emerge, including domestic scenes, natural phenomena, and scientific ephemera form both a map of her personal artistic sensibility, and also the preoccupations of contemporary media in general.
